26 Sep 2011 : Golf Day Success, £1540 rasied in total with £770 for each club
Just to let everyone know about the resounding success of the first "annual" Pucklechurch Golf Day.

After all the expenses we made a very handsome profit of £1540 to be split equally by the Senior Football and the Cricket Club, £770 each.

A few thank-you's need to obviously be said, firstly to all the generous sponsors and donators who supplied all the prizes. Also to everyone that helped during the day, collecting money, organising putting competitions etc, and especially to Phil Perkins who organised everything to do with the golf club. A special mention also to Dave Watts for the pictures during the day, i'm sure you'll see them on the website soon. Last but not least goes to everybody that participated, we had 76 players on the day!! It wouldn't have been the success it was without you players.

Please don't forget the Harvest Festival this Sunday, it is a good fun evening with a chance to purchase some really good items from home grown produce to sporting goods and lots lots more. Auction starts at 7.30pm in The Star Inn.

Thanks again.

05 Sep 2011 : Sunday Team Finish on a high!
The Sunday team recorded their highest batting total of the season against Dyrham & Hinton - 254 for 9 in the last outing of the year. Matt Perkins was 99 not out in an innings which saw the batting order reversed and so whilst Steve Barmes didn't get to bat he covered himself in glory when he took a coveted wicket - ex-Pucklechurch player Mark Stephenson!  With the weather turning decidedly nasty Dyrham's batting proved too strong for Puckle and too many errors in the field cost them the match. Nevertheless the team should take heart from a massively improved preformance against D&H and with 9 players aged 20 or under who knows what the future holds! A mention in dispatches must also go to Owain Shaw who hit some great shots at the top of the order and had a great attitude in the field to match.

03 Jun 2010 : A few gentle rule reminders, please take a couple of minutes to have a look.
Following on from some recent events it has been decided that we need to just give a reminder of some points of etiquette/behaviour/responsibility that are expected from players of our club.

1. Every player has a responsibility to help with pitch preparation, this is currently only being done by the usual handful of people. Over the weekend the captains will be asking each of you when you are available to help, please have an answer ready for them.
2. Every senior player needs to make themselves (or their parents) available to do a "tea", if you haven't already done so please contact Vicky ASAP. We are especially short for Sundays at the moment.
3. Whilst a game is still being played every player needs to stay in their whites, unless in exceptional circumstances and with the express permission of their captain.
4. After each game the changing rooms need to be swept out and cleaned, the captains/managers need to make sure this is done.
5. All equipment needs to be away in the correct places after each game, not just dumped in the old referee's room.
6. If a meet time is specified by your captain/manager, which will be considered an appropriate time for game preparation, please make every effort to get there on time.
7. On the issue of kit and appearance, under the present economic circumstances we do not expect everybody to have branded PCC kit, but would ask that, where possible, new kit purchases should come through Vicky. Our club kit is as cheap, and definitely better quality, as any you will find.

We hope that you all realise that the above things are important to the continual running of our club and we would like to think that we will get total co-operation from everybody with regards to these points.

Thanks for your time.
