Match report A very cold day 2start the season and the worst poss start skip out 1st ball of the game but Mike and lee (21)as lee departed with the score on 31 the old pro frank appears . Mike given out lbw by skip for a good knock of 56 ...... Would we collapse ??????? Luke added a few runs and then chef and frank batted and the run rate started going up a nd up. Frank departed for 44 with the score on 156/5 and 6 overs left could we get 200 ..........chef and mark made batting look easy and chef quickly hit 45 and ticky hit a rare boundary at the end and last ball of the innings mark got bowled 4 a quick fire 30 and left us with 224/8 and a good score 2 defend.........bowlers turn and the fired up youngsters Lewis and Dan Hins opened and the poor umpire had lots of signals wide wide wide... Some poor fielding did not help us early on and They started steady and pushed the score along until Lewis found some magic and left them 51/1but the other opener started to hit the ball cleanly and looked like taking the game away from us and by the time we got him this to skip holding on 2 a catch they were 159/2 and needed 65 off 12 overs. Luke picked up another wicket and chef cleaned bowled the frustrating did not play 1proper shot no 3 batsman then it was left 2 young Lewis and Luke 2 bowl us 2 victory and Lewis picked up 3/45bowling well at the end with pressure on and it all came down 2 them needing 18 off the last over ....... 1 2 1 surely we have won ...4 6 and oops they need 4 of the last ball 2 win ... Pressure on but Luke calmly bowls his hand grenade and a dot ball sees us win by 3 runs happy skip...... A lot 2 improve on but a win a win and good contribution from several batsman is pleasing and what we lacked last year. Bowlers well done Lewis and Luke good experience 4 u both and Simon making his debut 1st 5 overs for 15 runs and should of had 1st wicket if we could catch !!!! Roll on next weeks 29 points on the board
